Resources and synergies development

R&SD designs sustainable infrastructure projects in the Tshopo region, with the aim of enhancing agricultural training.

As part of the GIFT project (Gouvernance, Insertion et Formation agricole dans la Tshopo - Governance, Integration and Agricultural Training in Tshopo), financed by AFD and carried out by Enabel, with technical support from CIFOR, R&SD is involved in carrying out infrastructure studies aimed at improving the learning environment in several agricultural establishments.

In collaboration with several specialized firms, R&SD drew up plans for a new teaching building at the Institut Facultaire des Sciences Agronomiques (IFA) in Yangambi. The 610 m² building (including terrace) will include two auditoriums, two laboratories, a library, administrative offices and a technical room.  The architecture was initially designed by R&SD, then reviewed and approved by Accarai-Bouillot. Stability was ensured by AERTS (structural engineering) and electrical installations by GKEE..

Designed according to a bioclimatic approach, the building favors local materials. The aim is to ensure thermal comfort without recourse to air conditioning, thanks to natural ventilation and an architecture adapted to the equatorial climate.

R&SD has also carried out technical studies for adaptable school modules (1 to 3 classrooms) for the Instituts Techniques Agricoles (ITA) in Kisangani, Yanonge and Yangambi. These structures are designed to meet the needs of inclusive, sustainable agricultural training rooted in local realities.

These initiatives lay the foundations for quality agricultural training, better adapted to the climatic challenges and rural development of the DRC.
