Afrormosia (or Assamela, Pericopsis elata) is a hardwood flagship species native to Central and West Africa, and is one of the most harvested and most valuable in the DRC.

R&SD  continues to supervise the rehabilitation site of the Faculty of Sciences of Kinsangani (UNIKIS) as part of the FORETS project (Training, Research, Environment in Tshopo), implemented by CIFOR in partnership with R&SD  and

R&SD has supervised the study, logistics and construction of the first flux tower erected in the Congo Bassin.

R&SD recently conducted the final independent evaluation of the Agricultural Productivity Support Project in Burundi (PAPAB) at the request of the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC).
